Campanile Restaurant - Nice

Very pleasant and affordable buffet-type restaurant in this hotel. Tasty choices, good value

After a long day exploring Monaco, we went back to our hotel. Obviously we were tired and went to the nearest restaurant next to our hotel which is this one. It was a bit late, went in. I ordered chicken nugget and chips for my child, my wife ordered pizza and my friend and I ordered a hot buffet. It took ages for the pizza and the nuggets to come out and when it did, the pizza was pale, it was probably not cooked properly and the my kids nuggets were over cooked and deemed inedible. We cancelled the pizza, and complained about the nuggets. But when the bill came ahe still billed us the nuggets. When I came to speak to her, she said "what do you want me to do, I already cancelled the pizza but your kid has already eaten the chips" tried reasoning with her, she just started speaking french. So I was suckered into paying my bill and stormed out. NEVER AGAIN AM I COMING BACK!

As a buffett goes this was good value, a good selection of starters and salade bar, the hot buffett consisted of chicken in sauce, and a fish dish, the chicken was very good followed by a huge selection of sweets to make a pig of yourself, all very good, no complaints.

France is a country that holds quality in its culinary arts with high regard, but this restaurant doesn't live up to that. It's not terrible, but not very good either. Dinner was a poor offering, but breakfast was a lot better so I'll give them an upgraded ranking for average, that the best I can do here. If you're in and out of Nice airport and just need something to eat then it's an option but if you have time head out to some place good. It's bland and basic here.
