We didn't know in advance what 3-course menu, including wine, we would have served, because buying on the market controls the menu, we think it was exciting. It was full at the restaurant.
I had very high expectations and I must say, dinner started very well. As others said already, you basically book the entire room, which comprises the kitchen and you eat whilst the chef is cooking for you a set menu (he changes the manu depending on what he finds in the market) - a bit like a chef's table. The started was a variation of baked cauliflowers, which was rather nice. However, the rest of the meal was a bit of a let down. I was not terribly impressed by the main course as the lamb was very tough and not very tasty. The veggies with it were nice. Cheese was a bit of sad affair with two tiny pieces of nothing too special. Desert was ok - not too sure about the jerusalem artichoke infused wiped cream - . In terms of alcohol, I only had a small glass of the rather sweet champagne and a taste of the red, which I personally detested, but then I am not a friend of "natural" wines. This particular one reminded me of a farmers wine with no body and a strong taste of wood. Ventilation was a problem too as we left reeking of food, but then of course it is not a proper restaurant. In short, a nice concept, an ok meal, but not worth 75 Euros per person
Delicious, outstanding, different, cozy, friendly, tasty, perfectly cooked, atmospheric, difficult to find - all that they say is true. It was a memorable evening and I will defintely go back again. The lamb melted in your mouth- amazing.
Here is a place that successfully combines the conviviality and quality of the dishes. an entry menu, dish, cheese and dessert that makes a great part to seasonal products from local producers: to start, isak, the chef, offers us a glass of drunkenness of the Pedmontese region, accompanied by Swedish homemade bread and butter prepared pa him and served aesthetically on a niçois cake! Then, a warm salad of vegetables with a delicious Romanesco cabbage sauce as an entry. in main dish, farmer chicken net accompanied by different vegetables (roasted panais, carrot purée, potiron in a virgin sauce.) , cheese plate and dessert around the apple. The kitchen is light, tasty and refined, the dishes well presented. everything is prepared by this talented and friendly young chef at the moment! Thank you isak for this delicious moments
My partner and I "stumbled" upon Isi by accident when we were dining in the restaurant downstairs, we were lucky enough to get a space at the table for the following night. There were just 7 of us dining and our fellow diners (all Swedish) were excellent company and the conversation flowed all evening. The food was delicious, seasonal, fresh and full of flavour. To start we had ceps with pickled carrot, roasted carrot and fennel, simple, yet bursting with flavour. This was paired with a lovely french sparkling wine. Main was chicken thigh and breast with pumpkin purée and vegetable accompaniments. Beautiful! This was followed by a lovely cheese course. The dessert was by far my favourite, caramelised apple with raw, finely sliced apple and almond "crunch", served with more sparking wine and calvados. All in all, a well thought out, perfectly prepared meal in an intimate setting. I hope to return to Nice soon and visit Isak's table again!
