It was my first time eating in Cafe Aurora and I loved it! They have the best comfort food and they serve all-time favourites such as salpicao and garlic rice, mushroom soup, different kinds of pastas and the best grilled cheese with tomato soup I've ever had! Everything is made fresh from their salad dressings and pasta sauces to even their home made pasta noodles and homemade ice cream flavours. The quality of the food here is definitely top notch, giving customers only the best and never scrimping on ingredients. The salpicao was very tender and juicy, it went well with the rice. We ordered 3 different pastas, I enjoyed them all. I recommend the squid ink pasta and the truffle pasta (which for me, tastes even better than mamou's). You have to try their soups as well. Super hearty, full of flavour and just sooo good! The mushroom soup was just amazing! As well as my favorite, the grilled cheese sandwich: Soft and goey cheese on the inside coupled with crunchy toasted bread that goes best when dipped into the warm tomato soup! Also, don't forget to try their desserts! They serve home made ice cream and the absolute BEST cheesecake! Definitely coming back for more!
The food in this cafe is super value for money and at the same time, really good. The pasta is freshly made daily and has so many different sauces like the truffle pasta and the squid ink which is my favorite. I also really enjoyed the 4 grilled cheese with the creamy tomato soup and fresh salad. The steak salpicao was very juicy and tender that really complements the fluffy garlic rice. The desserts here are also home made and can change depending on the flavor of the day. to top that, the ambiance of the hotel is very charming with its Art Deco. it's very clean, ornamented and has a lovely feel as you enter. will definitely come back!
Artisinal ice cream is the best... assorted flavors, assorted twists, all of them are great. Will not end my meal in aurora without trying trying ice cream. Love to try each flavor they bring in. and cant wait for their other unique flavors. minty cherry ice cream, kahlua espresso, red bean ice cream, almond milk ice cream, amarula black coffee, figs and nuts, peach in white wine... and a lot more to taste...
Tried dessert and coffee here. We regretted both purchases. What we ordered: 1. Iced Latte (2/5) Had barely any coffee flavor. And the milk was very watered down. Costs 150 pesos and I feel like I could've made a better cup at home. 2. Ghirardelli Brownie Ala Mode (1/5) Costs 195 pesos and was not worth it at all. The portion was VERY small, while we thought it was for sharing. Brownie was obviously not freshly baked and that would've been okay, but they didn't even warm the brownie. The ice cream portion was small as well and tasted inferior to supermarket ice cream. They're probably not know for their desserts and coffee, but since it's part of their menu, they should probably improve the food quality. Ambiance is very nice and cozy, though. Probably the only good thing about our dining experience.
