As the only vegan café in Nimes we came here a few times on our trip. First we came to breakfast and had the breakfast trade with pancakes, juice and coffee. All were DELICIOUS and we came back the next morning for... exactly the same. We also came for cakes, cookies and coffee and the two women who served us were very helpful and attentive. There is a large small selection of vegan goodies to buy. The bonus for me was the big baby change facility!
We have read the excellent reviews we have read about. We took a bowl 14 Euro I think and small) and a vegetarian burger and two glasses tastefully lemon Verbena water each 2 Euro. The water had been infused with lemon peel for... much too long and therefore got a very bitter taste. The vegetarian burger 's chickpea pattie was om, but not wow. The bow had almost the same ingredients as the burger and wad so, but so usual. Bowls are now very trendy in the vegan world and you can get very good combinations in several restaurants. The one we got here was a combination when refrigerator left over, no theme, not connection between the ingredients. It seemed to us, unfortunately, that this nice couple had very good intentions with opening this place, but not enough culinary experience to open a restaurant. We have house chefs, often go to all kinds of restaurants and have the impression that the menu was a kind of improvisation. People seem to be with the place, perhaps because it offers something more fresh than what is actually offered in France. The Initiave is worth 5 stars, but the food 2 only. Maybe in a few years it's worth it, but now it tastes like improvised. Iced tea was commercial cans and the detailed tea list on two pages in the menu was indeed a description of the commercial tea bags from Yogi brand.

We went after reading the outstanding reviews we read about it. We took a"bowl" (14 euros I think and small) and a vegetarian burger and two glasses of flavoured lemon verbena water ( 2 euros each). The water had been infused with lemon rind for way too long and therefore got a very bitter taste. The vegetarian burger's chickpea pattie was om, but not wow. The "bow" had almost tbe same ingredients as the burger and wad so but so ordinary. Bowls are very trendy right now in the vegan world and you can get very good combinations in several restaurants.
