A good fair dunkim old style club. No glitzy foyer or lighting but good down to earth facilities. Yes it has the TAB and gambling machines a bar and restaurant. It has lots of free parking onsite. The value lies in the old world charm and the immense collection of artifacts from the history of the Showmen's Guild. Great paintings, posters and of course the Dolls made by Dorothy March that to this daycare still presented to the Qld Showgirl. These are all handmade by Dorothy who has devoted her life to that of a travelling showman. The facilities can be hired for private functions such as weddings. The extensive grounds come alive prior to Christmas when Guild members put on a free day for underprivileged children. The grounds originally were used for a football match. With the encroachment of industry hopefully the club can benefit from additional clients. The club in January hosts visitors from Qld,NSW,ACT NT for the annual Think Tank where the Guild hosts delegates from Show Societies in an information and attractions help day.
I attended a function here today and was very impressed with the function room, service and buffet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I'm already looking forward to next years event!
Very kind staff and reasonably priced drinks too. Wrestling events on one Saturday every month make this place a must visit for locals
Great feed and good old style pub atmosphere
