Waterside Seafood Company - Norfolk

The food at the hotel was quite reasonably priced, in my opinion. Our meals were both satisfying and delicious. They offered a breakfast buffet, and we enjoyed several meals there. Overall, I would rate the food a 5/5.

I was quite disappointed after having to wait over an hour for a ribeye steak that was supposed to have a chili glaze, only to find it bland and lacking flavor. It’s disheartening that the management couldn’t anticipate the need for enough kitchen staff during one of the hotel's busiest weekends. The staff on duty did their best and remained very professional throughout, but it’s frustrating to see them set up for failure instead of success.

I had a fantastic lunch experience today thanks to Mia's excellent service—she was wonderfully personable! The view of the bustling Elizabeth River added to the ambiance. The appetizer, Crispy Calamari, leaned more towards crispy than calamari, but it ended up being the perfect addition to my delicious House Salad as croutons! My Flounder Sandwich was tasty and well-portioned, and the Turkey Club was quite generous as well (though the wheat bread was a bit over toasted and got a little squished—LOL!). I’m definitely looking forward to returning to try more menu items in the future!

Lunch was excellent: the tuna poke appetizer was my choice. Tuna was fresh and flavorful, the appetizer portion is a great portion size for a light lunch. Shrimp creole was presented beautifully (very lightly seasoned: if you want a strong spicy dish, you might be disappointed, but my husband was very pleased). The roux is very light compared to other versions we've had in other states) but no complaints here.

Very slow, I was kind of forgot about mod service. I wanted I box to take part of my sandwich back to room, ended up eating it anyways while I waited for the check. Took me longer to pay and leave then the eating experience.Food: 4/5
