Cold Stone Creamery - Normal

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cold Stone, which we only make about twice a year. It’s always a delight to sample their unique flavors and watch the ice cream being made right before our eyes. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the interior of the establishment was clean. Customers were respectful, patiently waiting outside before entering due to the crowd inside. Masks were required at the entrance, but we had no issues with that.

I visited the restaurant on a Sunday around noon, and it looked closed due to the lack of cars in front. When I went inside, the staff mentioned I might be the first customer of the day, which made me think it was a slow start for them. I ordered a large bowl of Oreo ice cream, which was delicious, but it cost about $6.50, and that was without any toppings. Thankfully, I had a gift card to cover it because that seems quite pricey for just a bowl of ice cream. Overall, despite the high price, the ice cream was really good.

The staff was great! My husband had not been with a cold stone and employees were patient with him trying to leave flavors and answered our menu questions. Only at this point is the location in College Hills. I think this place could be bigger. If it rains or you don't want to sit outside, it's best to go your ice cream. There are not many seats inside.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of ice cream flavors and toppings, and you can enjoy your dessert in either a bowl or a cup. While Cold Stone Creamery is open year-round, it gets particularly busy in the summer, which can make finding a seat quite challenging. During those times, I often opt to enjoy my ice cream in my car. I’d rate it 4 out of 5 because it’s important to check your change before leaving the register. I noticed a discrepancy on my last visit, but I only realized it once I was in my car. The amount was less than $20, but it was still a bit frustrating.
