This place is a little hidden gem that I hope will be successful in the long run. We went on opening night and while it wasn't perfect, for the first night it was great. We got in around 6 PM and were out even before 7 came. We started off with the Fusion Nachos without sour cream. It was really good. I would opt out of the pico the next time as well (but I forgot the second time around). I didn't feel like the pico blended well with the rest of the ingredients but that's just the taste buds of mine as well as my companions. I ordered the Slow Roasted Pork Carnitas Pappardelle and it was almost perfect. The only thing that didn't work for me was the shredded carrots as I'm pretty sure it was raw shredded carrots. If it was cooked, it wasn't cooked enough to my liking. That's the only thing that I felt didn't jive so I'll just request it to be excluded or to be cooked if possible the next time I order it. The dish is served with a generous amount of shredded pork and a less than expected amount of pappardelle pasta. But this is a good thing in my eyes as I'm getting more bang for my buck with having more meat than pasta. Everything other than the shredded carrots blended very well for me. My man ordered the BBQ Bone-In Chicken Breast. It was decent but the portion was quite small for the price. If it was mind-blowing good then it probably would've been justified but it's not quite there. The second time we went, we brought a friend with us and started off with the nachos again. He's Korean and he liked the Korean twist on these nachos. I forgot to ask the pico to not be included again but I'm pretty sure I won't forget the next time because of this. He ordered the Marinated Beef Salad and the presentation was top notch. The salad was huge in size and everything about it looked appealing, even to a non-salad eater like me. He said that it tasted really nice. My man ordered the Spicy Filet Mignon and it was only okay. The BBQ sauce that came with it worked with the steak but the portion of the steak was on the small side. Filet Mignon is usually served quite small in quantity but this was smaller than what we thought he was going to get. The sides it came with were good. I decided to try the Brown Sugar-Soy Sauce Marinated Prime Brisket. The only thing I did not like at all about this is the cilantro-lime sauce it came with. I liked the dish completely without it. No biggie, I brushed the sauce off to the side and my curious companions tasted the sauce and told me exactly what it tasted like to them....it's that taste when you touch your tongue to a battery. While I have never done that, so I don't know what touching your tongue to a battery tastes like, I can tell you that the flavor of the sauce is sharp and quite strong. I will probably order this dish again next time but without the sauce. Everyone's taste buds are different so others probably would enjoy the bite and the taste of the sauce in this dish. We ordered 2 desserts to share: Lemon Tres Leches and Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie. I thought I'd like the Tres Leches more but it didn't wow me like I thought it would. It wasn't as good as what Caramel Tres Leches tasted like from various other places. It might be just the lemon flavor overall....I'd still order it again but I think the winner was the Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie. I don't know how they made this and what magic they did but this is on top of my list for desserts to reorder. We all thoroughly enjoyed this one a lot. Desserts were of decent portion size — perfect for sharing!
Interesting combinations, incredible flavors! The best thing on the menu is on the bar menu - Mango Salsa and Wonton Chips.
Awesome food and amazing service. Definitely going to become a regular place to dine! Just added more to the menu! My favorite place to eat!
