Torchy's Tacos - Norman

Food was ok but i would rate it in bottom 50% of Mexican food in norman. Meat was good , sauces were interesting. Service was terrible, it was 1 hour and 2 minutes from the time i got in line until i got my food. The staff appeared detached and uninterested as the place was packed. Unless ALOT changes , we will not be back.

Food is consistently very good the service is very poor. Very long wait times for everything. The help are all very young and it's as though everyday is their 1st day working anywhere. If the lot has more than a couple cars in it keep going unless you gave an hour or more to eat 2 tacos

Very inventive and delicious tacos. Loved every one I've had. But having favorites makes it hard to try new ones.  Heads up on the "secret" menu. Google it. Order from it and they know what you're talking about. Be warned that if you order the Ace of Spades it's the only taco you'll need. Lotta food in that one.  Love the August #torturebytaco tacos of the week that get progressively hotter. If you're on the fence just go. It's awesome. Just don't be in a hurry.  The only thing keeping me from giving a rare 5/5 stars for Torchy's is that it takes soooooo long for the tacos to come out. Perhaps it's a small price to pay for such high quality. Pro tips: the queso is world class and be sure to try the Mexican street corn.

Needs some work-- has potential. New restaurant, heard a bit of hype but didn't really hit the mark. Loved the pickled jalapenos that came on the shrimp taco. The democrat had a puddle of grease under from the barbacoa so it was a bit off-putting. My biggest complaint is the wait. Waited in line 15 minutes to order and waited another scant hour to get our food. I was very excited to try the street corn, but it didn't come out with the meal. The woman said she would be right back with it but never returned. Finished our meal, was no longer hungry and tired of waiting so we left a bit disappointed. Maybe we will give it another chance once the crowd dies down and they get their act together.
