I discovered Whittlesea to be a unique town with a Main Street, but lacking a cohesive vibe, possibly due to being a pass-through location. However, upon closer inspection, the town's charm becomes apparent. During my exploration of the area, I stumbled upon a quaint restaurant for lunch. Despite its dated exterior, the interior exuded vintage charm with cozy booths and tables reminiscent of my grandmother's kitchen. The service was friendly and, though my expectations were modest, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the coffee. Opting for a takeaway cup, I indulged in delicious pancakes topped with berry coulee, maple syrup, cream, and fresh seasonal fruit. It was a sinful delight that left me wanting to return, despite the distance from my home. If only Whittlesea were closer, I would surely make it a weekend tradition.
