Merchant Warehouse Retro Cafe and Wine Bar

A great place to sit out on the patio and enjoy a pint and some fish and chips. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the view was wonderful!

After a day of hiking in Gros Morne, we were recommended this restaurant by a local for lunch. It was a bit hidden away by the shore off the main road, but parking nearby made it convenient. Despite being busy, we were quickly accommodated. The view of Bonne Bay was stunning and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious, especially the cod burger which should be a national treasure. It reaffirmed my belief in eating where the locals do. The decor featured kitschy signs and witty jokes on the walls, giving it a cozy and familiar atmosphere similar to other bars. A highlight was when we took a boat tour later that evening and the captain brought us behind the restaurant, where all the customers came out on deck to listen to the music from the on-board musician and wave to us. It was a unique and memorable experience. Definitely worth a visit.

Simply THE BEST fish and chips I have ever had. This is a quaint, fun spot in Windy Point and if you are visiting Gros Morne, you need to visit here too. While we were unable to experience live music here, I'm going to bet it was as amazing as the rest of the place. Fast, friendly service with delicious results.

I’m so glad we found the Merchant Warehouse! A great dining experience and touch of Newfie charm. I had the cod bite and Cesar salad and my dad had the sausage on a bun with fries. Both meals were delicious and the portions were excellent. Lovely location on the waterfront, a cool retro diner as you come in (much to this Coca Cola collector’s surprise! , and a cool bar/restaurant in the back. Set up for live music, a piano for people to play, and touches of local colour throughout. Hope to be back some day!

This restaurant is a fantastic spot to enjoy delicious, local fresh fish and chips! Don't forget to try their scrumptious partridgeberry cheesecake for dessert. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, making for a memorable dining experience.
