Feedback gevenAmarin Thai is visually appealing inside and out! The staff are very attentive, welcoming and professional. I went with my parents and we have tried a lot of Thai places in Adelaide, but most have acquired a 'western ' taste to it. BUT, this Thai restaurant is fantastic. <br/ <br/ MUST TRY..<br/ <br/ Pandan chicken (8 pieces): these tasted fantastic! I have never had pandan chicken that has been so moist or so flavorsome. Not to mention they are a really good size, and they keep the skin on so its all just delicious. <br/ <br/ Masaman curry: beautiful and authentic. Meat was super tender and just falling apart. <br/ <br/ Duck curry (Kaeng Ped Pet Yang): just like the one I had in Thailand last year. amazing. <br/ <br/ Deep fried Pla Larb Barramudi: recommend deep fried any day. The fish was deboned, fresh, and the sauce worked perfectly. <br/ <br/ Note: the curry servings may look small, but if you 've got a few they are the perfect size. Oh and the roti on the side is such a good idea! <br/ <br/ Would definitely come back and recommend! It 's also in the Entertainment Book, which offers I think 25% of the total bill!
Delicious! Well made, authentic and fresh tasting cuisine. A pleasant dining atmosphere with friend my staff to boot. Will definitely be back!
Amarin is amazing! Don't be put off by the short lived Amarin Thai 2 on Rundle Street the original O'Connell Street version is great. I love the choo chee, which they happily make vegetarian. So tasty. The decor is a little outdated but is somewhat charming and adds to the cosiness of the restaurant The staff are so lovely, too.
Boutique restaurant, authentic Thai food, unpretentious, just lovely.. I was visiting Adelaide on business with my colleague and we happened to stumble across Amarin after walking up and down the main strip of North Adelaide looking for somewhere to eat. Amarin is on one of the side streets where we parked our car. After taking a peek at all the other restaurants, we returned back here and I'm glad we did.<br/ <br/ We ordered the Fish Star dumplings (prawn and chicken dumplings in mild curry seafood bisque style sauce), and the Miang Kum (roast coconut, prawn garnished in lime served with ginger, and cashew nut wrapped in iceburg lettuce or betel leaves).<br/ <br/ Both were beautifully presented and delicious. Unfortunately the betel nut leaves must've been out of season so our version came with the lettuce leaves. But the flavour of the roasted coconut prawn and crunch of the cashew nuts was just perfect. We really enjoyed it. The dumplings too, were delicious.<br/ <br/ For main we had the Masaman Beef Curry and deep fried Barramundi with lime, ground roasted spice, chilli and coriander.<br/ <br/ The flavours of the barramundi were perfectly balanced. My colleague isn't accustomed to spicey food, and we both agreed that the chilli was just right. It wasn't overly spicey like many restaurants do, and it didn't overpower the flavour of the other ingredients. The waiter carved the fish in front of us which was a nice touch.<br/ <br/ The Masaman curry had those delicious chunks of slow cooked beef you'd hope for as well as the rich sauce and peanuts for texture. It felt and tasted like a home cooked meal rather than what you might get in a fancy or more expensive venue.<br/ <br/ In summary, we really enjoyed it. The food was terrific, and the whole vibe was relaxed, casual and the staff were lovely. I can definitely Amarin to others who might prefer a casual but authentic Thai meal over something you might get in a trendy or more expensive restaurant.
Best Thai food in Adelaide. Alway great service too.
