Louise took care of us like she was our mother. Now we go in and this Brunette or black haired women tells us its $3 pints. Which I thought was odd. So we go to get it. Our pint was a 3/4 full plastic cup. I knew something was shady about this lady. What got me was. It was stupid hot in the place so, we went to the patio. She came out not even a minute later. "Patios closed today" ... We left our drinks and went somewhere else. For the owner. Maybe you should pick up that snow shovel on the patio bud. I am positive snow is not in the forecast anytime soon.
Alright so im a 30 year old woman. Been around my fair share of pubs around montreal and ottawa. I just moved to north bay not too long ago and turns out i work right in front of this bar. So i go there by myself after work( as i always do when moving to a new city) and this blonde bartender gave me the absolute worst service!! I felt like i wasn't welcomed from the minute i walked in she served me my beer and proceeded to close the bar( it was 930 on a Monday and i asked what time she closed when i walked in- she said 1145 last call) so there i am drinking my beer really feeling unwelcome as this woman was clearly wanting to leave. So i say" you aren't really the talking type are you?" She says " well i have work to do so you'll be on your own if you want to stAy here" i drank my beer as fast as i could and left. Never been treated this way in any city i been to and i left there thinking how anyone like this could have a job as a bartender. Ill never go back there again. If anyone has any good bars/pubs to recommend in north bay id appreciate it , thanks!
Stopped in for a drink just to check it out. It looks like a typical older bar so it has some character. Had drinks with some of the off duty staff and they were very friendly. It was an open mike night so their was live entertainment and it was also quiet good. Some talented people in North Bay!
The Beer was cold and the people were great. We were a group of about 12 and our waitress was amazing. Beautiful blonde that was very prompt efficient and polite. Never had to wait for a refill as she was already on it. A+ for service. Highly reccomend if you're in NBay looking to crack a cold one.
The Fraser has been around for a long time and it's known for being a "cougar" bar. If you're lonely and and over 40 and want to go to a place where people are friendly and the beer is cheap the fraser is the place.
