Places like Hank Dietel's are very few and far between in the DMV, where everything is new, upscale and overly pretentious. Check your MoCo entitlement at the door cuz this is an old school homegrown throwback to another era. Dietle's commitment to local and traveling performers, presented almost continuously is to be commended. Stop in anytime and just be surprised.
This place is a live roots music headquarters in the DMV. It’s the hangout for all the DC top-shelf musicians. Live music every night. Multiple bands on weekends. Dance friendly too! Traveling to DC? You need to come here. You will have a ton of friends before you leave!
Hank Dietle's is back after years of restoration from the fire. Oldest tavern in Montgomery County and back to bringing great live music to the region. The music is great, the beer is cold, and the roast beef sliders are to die for.
A Best in DC music venue (and bar). Hank Dietle 's Tavern has reached critical mass in music meaning, one can show up, without planning, and be confident of a musical treat. 2 shows per day, 5:30 and 8 (1 Mondays at 7). When a regular gig skips a date, the late substitution will be spectacular. More 8 p m shows are becoming ticketed events, and these always sell out. It 's a small spot, maybe 120? On second thought, skip the planning and come see a show. I expect you 'll be charmed.
Great place to stop in and ha e a beer. Music was great as well. Perfect atmosphere.
