Our first impressions was of a nice friendly pub, we called again and paid £16.50 for a housing duck salad most of it was just leaves, one tomato n a bit of cucumber the duck was in a tiny dish in the middle of the plate!! We then decided to call for the quiz they were advertising on Tues nights, when we got there every table was reserved for quiz teams, obviously not keen on visitors joining in, avoided for rest of the hols.

Nice pub with outside seating. Good food and friendly staff.

Wow what a great place food portions are so big !! the ribs are incredible ..atmosphere is warm and wonderful and service is 19p per cent well done Rosie and Robbie

We visited for the evening and found this pub to be fabulous. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced; there was also a fantastic range of beers on offer. I’ve rarely been to a pub with staff as friendly and accommodating as here. I recommend it most highly… just watch your head on the low door as you walk in!

We ventured into the pub out of curiosity because of it's age whilst walking down the street. We were not disappointed with the look and the decor. The landlady and landlord were very friendly and even though the landlord was extremely busy, he gave my 6 and 10 year olds plenty of time answering their many questions they had about their pub including about the extra visitors... They were still talking about it a few days afterwards. Oh yes, the drinks we had, including the cider, were excellent. We would have had lunch but we never had time. We will return the next time we are in Ilfracombe.
