Hall Farm And - North East Lincolnshire

My group of 5 had our reservation cancelled at a local golf club last minute, but this restaurant kindly accommodated us. The service was excellent, with the staff being attentive but not intrusive. The meal was delicious and well-prepared, catering to one of our group members who had dietary restrictions. We were able to relax and chat over coffee after our meal, even though the official service had ended. We appreciated being able to stay despite the late hour, especially since one of our party had traveled to be with us. We won't be returning to the golf club, but we will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in the New Year.

Four adults and 1 child for Sunday lunch. Starters, mains and puddings nothing short of perfect. If I could rate higher I would. We have been several times before as it is a local restaurant but today exceeded our usual expectations.

As others have mentioned, this hotel is a hidden gem. My daughter and I stayed for one night to attend a funeral in Grimsby. Both of our rooms were spacious, well-presented, and clean. We were impressed with the exceptional dinner and breakfast options, with a wide variety to choose from. The breakfast was freshly cooked, with toast made in the kitchen and brought to our table. The wine at dinner was reasonably priced and of high quality. The staff were friendly, cheerful, and attentive without being intrusive. We were impressed by the little touches like Andrex toilet paper and linen napkins. From our perspective in the south, this hotel offers incredible value. We will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Having previously visited for Sunday lunch we'd recommended it to friends for our monthly meal out. Six of us arrived and made our choices only to be told that they had run out of the Latkes which had been picked by four of the group as a starter. The mini Mexican meatballs were chosen instead followed by three of the group choosing burger as a main. My husband asked for his burger to be cooked thoroughly and was assured that the chef did not do pink burgers. The starters arrived and all the meatballs were pale and insipid looking on the outside and extremely pink when you cut into them. The majority of the meatballs were left on the plates. Sadly when the burgers arrived they were the same, all were pink in the middle. Hubby left his and when he pointed it out to the waitress she said he could have his dessert for free (not sure why as it was his main he was complaining about! . One friend ordered the belly pork. This was presented with a massive piece of crackling which once removed revealed two bite size pieces of belly pork underneath and that was it!! Desserts were fine but then we were left a good 15 mins trying to catch someone's eye to ask for the bill. It was eventually brought to us but then we waited another 15 mins before we could get somebody's attention to ask for the card machine. By this point there was only our table and one other couple who had only gone in for a drink but the staff were too busy moving all the tables around us, laying the tables out for breakfast and putting the cereals out on a table .. and this was pre 2200 hrs. Both the food and the service were not befitting of a restaurant of this calibre and in this price bracket.

This charming hotel, located in a picturesque countryside setting, is truly a hidden gem. The rooms are tastefully decorated with high-quality furnishings, the staff is friendly and the food is outstanding. With only eight rooms, we enjoyed a tranquil stay and especially loved having a top-notch restaurant right on the premises. Our experience was fantastic and the value for the stay was exceptional.
