La Lupa - North Haven

This is one of my go to spots. My family was in town from NYC and I took them there. Seemed to have been some mixup with our table reservation which I made well in advance. They took on a birthday/holiday party which took up most of the dining room. Had I known that when I booked the reservation I would have landed else where. I would have taken them there another time. I requested a table near the window and away from the door (cold air) my mom is 87 and doesn't like sitting near the door. Where did they put us near the door and in the way of the register/appointment book. Alturo and his wife (owners) are very nice and always accomodating so I don't know what went wrong (other than they were not around for me to speak to them). They served caffine coffee instead of decaf (my friends could not get to sleep that night) then they realized it and called me the next day. I felt really bad. Will I go back yes. This was my first time very having an issue at my favorite spot. I'm just sorry it was when my family came all the way from NYC. Will I go back? For sure. Go check them out because the food is also very very good.

The selections were varied and flavorful and portion sizes, especially for their specials, were huge. Come with a healthy appetite and you will not be disappointed. On a busy evening it is noisy but such fun.

I called to inform We were going to be 15 minutes late! I was told Thank you for the call and there would be no problem seating us! When we arrived there was No One in sight to greet or seat us! The Woman in front of us had been waiting over 15 minutes to pick up her take out order! After 10 minutes, I said to my Wife ‘ Screw This ‘ They have no help here! We left and went to Bellini's for our 46th Wedding Anniversary and were treated the way one should from the Greeter to the Table to an Outstanding Waitress! Get it together Lalupa or you will end up in the Heap pile with Leon's!

Celebrated tonight 2 anniversaries and a birthday absolutely phenomenal great food huge portions and wonderful waitress Michelle excellent!!!
