I was excited to visit the pub after its renovation, so we made a reservation for lunch on the 17th. I ordered the Sunday lunch, which was quite lacking in seasonal vegetables - only a small sprig of kale and a few roasted carrots and potatoes. When I asked a member of staff about this, they said that's how it's served. I also wasn't offered any sauces with my meal. The staff didn't seem very distinguishable from the customers.
I have been frequenting this restaurant for some time now, and I cannot find any faults with it or the staff. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and Sam and the team will do everything they can to make you feel welcome. It's almost surprising how my drink is often ready before I even reach the bar, but it just goes to show how great the service is. It's especially nice in the summer to sit on the deck and enjoy the view of the fields. I highly recommend dining at the King William.
I visited a lovely country pub where dogs are welcome with my family for Sunday lunch, and we were not disappointed. We had three roast chicken dinners and two roast beef dinners with all the trimmings. The dessert selection was excellent, including Blackberry and Apple Crumble, Eton Mess, and Chocolate Fudge Cake. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch.
On 25th. August 2021. Mid. Herts. Footpath Society walkers descended upon The 'King Willy '... ...18 beautiful lunches (admittedly pre ordered) were served with so much efficiency and humour by Sam. and her team and we will, most certainly, return...Thanks to all concerned.
