Shar'els Cafe - North Saint Paul

Well... I guess it's time to say goodbye. This will be my final visit to Shar'els Cafe. Every other time I've been here has been enjoyable, and I thought it would be a great spot for a fun family gathering. But this time was different. The waitress (whose name I don't know because she never introduced herself) had a long grey ponytail braid and was incredibly loud and rude. She began by insulting my father, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and served him biscuits and gravy that looked like soupy gruel, topped with an undercooked egg. She then proceeded to bully my aunt for being hard of hearing, yelling at her because she couldn't hear a quiet question. I believe that unnecessary aggression towards customers is unacceptable in Midwestern food service, regardless of the personal circumstances of the staff. In conclusion, my family and I will not be returning to dine at this establishment.

This cozy cafe is very welcoming and has a friendly atmosphere. Despite being busy, the service is fast. The portions are generous and well worth the price.

I have only visited this restaurant twice, but I highly recommend checking it out. The service is excellent and the food is delicious.
