Feedback gevenDuring my stay at the hotel, I decided to have dinner at the restaurant. The staff was friendly and even though the menu was somewhat limited, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. I truly enjoyed my meal.
I love paella and constantly search for a good one but am constantly disappointed and this one was no different. Service was excellent but I should have stuck to what I know...steak. It looked impressive on entering the restaurant but taste wise....horrible and a poor...choice. For better value stick to the traditionally food, it is fresh, well served and tastes better than the exotic sounding dishes.
I ate here because I was staying at the hotel, unfortunately. The food was microwaved and ok but for the price, I expected far better. Rydges do have a habit of over charging, you only need to look at the in-room mini bar or the...full sized bar in the hotel to realise that they are rip-off merchants. Food was ok but clearly microwaved sides, the main chicken element do my dish was ok, nothing special though. I only ate here because of the occurrences in Martin place that night. I haven 't eaten at the hotel since and have found some fantastic local alternatives which are well priced, tastier and on the whole, run rings around Mundo. Won 't be back that 's for sure. The brekky at the cafe is just as bad! I recommend exploring the local area for a much more personal and tasty experience!
My partner& I ate here because we were staying in the hotel the restaurant is located in. The menu was limited. The smallest steak was 250g twice what I would normally eat. I find these mega meals quite ridiculous. We both ordered from the...special menu which was good value for . Service was slow. The food average. I would have preferred eat somewhere else.
I stayed at the Rydges Hotel, which is connected to this restaurant, so it was convenient. The service was slow and the staff didn't come to check if we needed more drinks or water. The garlic bread was below average, we waited twenty minutes for it, and then our main meals arrived too soon after. The steaks were tender, but the sides were cold. They were replaced with hot ones for free. The lighting was atmospheric if that's what you like, but I found it too dark to see what I was eating. The whole room was quite dark and dingy. The meals were reasonably priced.
