The staff were very welcoming. They didn't miss a beat when a customer arrived; I noticed this throughout my time here. The sushi chef behind the train, in a raised voice, greets you with "bonjour" (quite the quirky touch for a Japanese Fusion Restaurant), followed by a vocalisation from other staff acknowledging your arrival. You're quickly seated, and they make sure you're asked if you would like a drink, more than once if you're lucky ;).The atmosphere is great, and while I was killing time, I could tell this restaurant is very popular with local business men and woman. The sushi train was well stocked; many plates were 2-3 high on the train which caused a few accidents on the turn of the tracks, no big issue though :).I wouldn't go raving about this sushi being the best I've ever had, but it's your typical western sushi. It was relatively fresh and good flavours. I found the prices very reasonable too. I did have a hard time realising the cost of each plate, from where I was sitting there was no indication of prices so I didn't know the cost of my meal until I left.I enjoy sushi ships, which usually aren't on the train, and are usually considerably more expensive than the cheapest plate. I had 3 plates or sushi and a dessert ball, it came to $17. I found this price reasonable.
A great spot with an energising vibe. The sushi train was stacked with a great variety of high quality sushi offerings, the service was excellent and the bill reasonable.Would really recommend their platters!Even though it was quite busy (it seemed very popular) we could still have a sensible conversation and the preparation time for a platter was not unreasonable though slightly on the long side.(I've only had one visit, but wouldn't mind a return in the near future.)
Having been once to Sushiro very early on a Saturday they seemed to ramp up the good service and making of new cold and hot items., so we went back tonight for date night st 8pm alas after taking a seat we were told they weren't making anymore hot food so we were stuck with what was on the sushi train. The kitchen was being cleaned and they looked like they were closing for the night. When they advertise opening hours until 9:30pm you expect to be able to order from the kitchen until at least 9pm.
The sushi train is the best and the staff are extremely friendly; I have been going back at least once a week while I am working in Sydney
Been here a few times. The range of sushi on the train is limited and what there is has way too much mayo and goop on them. If you're dining at dinner time the sushi is left over from lunch from what I can tell. If you order off the menu be prepared to wait a long long time either for your food or, just as likely, for the waiter to return to tell you they are out of whatever you ordered. I've never seen the St Leonards place busy or even with more than a couple of tables full. There's a reason for this.
