A rude employee told me to look at the wait to be seated sign as they d just had a large group arrive. As there was nobody around to let my friend and I know what was going on, we d begun to walk in but were quickly reprimanded by said employee. Even when I said that her rudeness was unnecessary she still insisted I should have paid more attention. We then waited well over 30 mins to eventually be served 2 hot drinks and scones, whilst customers who d arrived after us had begun queuing at counter. Totally unclear as to what system was. What began as a pleasant morning out with a friend turned into a rushed ending due to time constraints. I certainly won t be returning here any time soon or recommending it. There s plenty of competition out there, so they need to up their game.
I have just googled whether there has been a change in ownership of the Rendezvous Cafe? Both doors are blocked off with red tape, the back door is only the exit now my husband currently in a wheel chair due to an operation could not get in without a major fuss. We were then shown to a table at the back of the coffee shop when tables at the window were empty? The girl we talked to was extremely unfriendly... We have been coming to this coffee shop for over 20 years with family and friends but the atmosphere and the service are terrible now not sure what happened. Well, we left and went next door!
Enjoyed our cakes, coffe and tea. Old fashioned cafe with loads of charm. Perfect location. Like going back in time
We visited this Cafe to enjoy a seat where Vera from the TV series of that name occasionally visits in the Detective show. We had Cheese Scones and Cappuccino but the Scones were terribly stodgy and my wife just couldn’t eat hers. I doubt if we will be back but the service was good so just get better Scones
Ordered and paid for coffee at takeaway window. Waited ten minutes still not served.left without it. Terrible service.
