Sushi Day - North Vancouver

You will love the Agedashi Tofu even if you don't like tofu!! I am not a huge fan of tofu but this is one of my favourite dishes ever! Fresh, hot, crispy and the most tasty sauce. All of the sauces are house-made and unique - authentic Japanese restaurant - service is excellent and great food. Definitely one of my very favourite Japanese restaurants on the North Shore.

Good menu - lots of selection. Small place which was really busy, between table service and takeout. Our sushi was okay, reasonable quality. Proportion of rice to filling was a bit higher than you'd like, and there seems to be a heavy reliance on sauce drizzled over sushi. The spicy tuna in particular was so over-coated with sauce that we had to scrape off gobs of two sauces (and the tuna wasn't great quality). Good for pre-movie but won't be rushing back - there are too many other great sushi places around.

It's a small place but been around for more than 10 years. I had the spicy miso udon with chicken - the soup base is good however the chicken is bland. On the expensive side. In any case it's proximity to my home make up for it in convenience plus the service is great.

I like Japanese restaurants that are Japanese owned purely because of the skills needed to create safe and edible sushi. Yes, just because someone is Japanese doesn't guarantee that you will get the best Japanese food, but its a start. When I lived in Japan, most Japanese do take time preparing their food and pride themselves on quality. As for the restaurant, its a bit pricey but the quality is decent and its a reliable place to go. Beware the prices because I misread the price for a real crab California roll and it was double what I thought. Expensive lunch!

Came here one night on a break from work. Since it was our first time here we decided to try something different. We weren't disappointed. The food was great. the service was good although my boyfriend did have to get up to refill his own water. I don't think the server knew just how thirsty we were from working. The sushi prices were a little more than what we normally spend but the food itself is what is earning this rating. I will be back but maybe just get take out.
