Epoch And Kitchen Terrace

Came here with my wife, kids and mother to try the Mother's Day afternoon tea and was very impressed with the amount of thoughtfulness that went into making the experience elevated and memorable for everyone. From the courteous and warm greetings from everyone on the way into the restaurant to the way they welcomed our table with roses for the ladies and small toys for the kids; everyone was in high spirits through the entirety of the meal (which is honestly kind of a rare occurrence with my two young ones). Our server was knowledgeable, patient and thorough in explaining the menu and helpful in offering recommendations when asked. There was a diverse selection of teas to choose from and they were also happy to accommodate my youngest with some juice in a teapot so she could also partake in the festivities. The food was made with an artful precision and although the sandwiches were petite in appearance, we were actually quite full by the time we had reached the desserts layer. I appreciated that there were very nuanced and unique flavor profiles in each of the sandwiches but my favorite was the curried chicken by far. All in all an impeccable experience and I'm very happy to have picked Epoch for Mother's Day celebrations.

I brought my mom and grandmother here for the mother's day high tea. Everything was great....... until we noticed, Every table was given flowers, but ours.. I thought maybe they'll get their flowers when we leave.... nopeee. The SAME HOSTESS WHO BROUGHT US IN, brought a mother and her TODLER to their table and handed them BOTH flowers.. While paying for the bill, I asked our waitress why every table received flowers but us. I was told the flowers were from the liquor vendor and that he left for the day..... but the flowers were at the front of the restaurant in a bucket for the hostesses to pass them out as customers came in?????? Anyways, I had also asked the hostess about the flowers and now I'm being told that she didn't know who was given flowers and who wasn't given any.... YOU brought me to my table and we clearly walked in empty handed...so your excuse was irrelevant. My issue is not the flowers, it's the principle. You upset and pissed off my mother and grandmother and made them feel like they are less than. I know you tried to offer me the flowers a handful of times, but WE DON'T WANT YOUR SORRY FLOWERS. It was already too late.... I guess management needs to teach their staff manners and principles and maybe not to discriminate possibly? Overall, food was okay, teas were okay, atmosphere was okay.... but if you're asian (from what it looked like, no asian tables received flowers), I wouldn't expect the same treatment as others are getting. Waitress was nice though!

Sid was the best! He meticulously made our drinks to perfection. I ordered an old fashioned and was pleasantly surprised at his skill. It was one of the best. Sid made us feel welcomed, his friendly disposition was refreshing. Thank you Sid for making our experience with you so memorable. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
