It is for good reason very busy at lunch time but service is very quick and efficient. There are many vegetarian friendly selections such as the pictured tomato vegetable soup.
This is my favourite soup place in the world. Opened since the mid-seventies, Esther has a regular line up of soups including Chicken and Rice or Noodle, Lentil, Mulligatawny, Leek and Potato, just to name a few plus daily specials. All their soups and food have no dairy, flour, sugar, oil, cream, or corn starch. There are also vegetarian and gluten-free options.<br/ She also has Sri Lankan dishes such as Chicken Curry with Rice, Mutton/Chicken/Fish Rolls, Keema, and much more. <br/ The kiosk is in the Cumberland Terrace so take note that they do not stay open late. On Saturday, they closed at 3:30pm. I was lucky to have grabbed 3 large soups and a chicken curry rice to go before they shut<br/ down for the day. <br/ There's a lot of love put into their food so be patient. The staff are extremely friendly and accomdating. And Santhiya K makes a killer curry! <br/ Be sure to stop by the next time you're in the Yonge and Bloor area!<br/
Hot lunch. Esther's offers the best soups. Made fresh with healthy ingredients and no preservatives. Bargain priced too. Any of the non-pureed soups have big chunks of vegetables and are my favourites. Food court atmosphere with line ups at lunch time.
Cant go wrong with the mulligatawny.....*insert homer drool sound*
Esther’s Soup Kitchen has 8 homemade soups every day, a couple of them vegan, all dairy free. They also have recently offered-up soup/sandwich/salad combos… so you get a chance to try a bit of everything.
