However, the karaage and takoyaki were the highlights, offering an amazing taste that genuinely impressed. A letdown, though, was the staff's attitude. Despite being in Toronto and not Japan, you'd anticipate a bit more warmth and respect in a Japanese establishment, considering their renowned customer service culture. It's a shame this aspect didn't match up to the otherwise enjoyable experience.
The service my friend and I received today was terrible. First of all we ordered chicken karaage which used to be 5 pieces and is now only 2 pieces. My friend ordered extra pork with his ramen but he received extra noodles instead and I ordered VIP egg which never came with the ramen. I had to ask for it a few times. Also, the VIP additional toppings no longer have chicken breast or extra pork like it used to. When the bill came the extra pork was on our bill even though we didn't get it and we paid extra for our beer. We both ordered the lunch special which comes with a pint of Sapporo but when the bill came we were charged regular Sapporo pint prices. I understand inflation etc. but the quality of Kinton has gone downhill and the fact that we were overcharged for the beer and the forgetfulness of the service staff makes it all that much worse. There are so many other places to eat in Toronto that these types of cutbacks, over charging and forgetfulness doesn't have to be tolerated.
Spicy Garlic (Veg) was the bomb! Veg Shoyu was good as well. The quantity was extremely generous and overall great flavors! Good to have multiple options for vegetarian ramen.
Dear Management:I ordered online TAKEOUT around 6:09PM Nov 14. I put in the note FOR DINE IN PLEASE. Trying to see if that would work since I have 2 kids and we were starving. We arrived at 6:24PM. I showed the lady I have paid online and asked her if we can eat there instead. She told me if we ordered takeout, we should go somewhere else to eat them. That was the rudest I’ve ever heard. The fact that I have already paid for it and should at least have the order ready so we can eat somewhere as we were refused, but the order was not prepared yet! Since I have nothing to take out yet I asked her if we can just eat in and she said “yes, but next time you can’t do that again.” I can understand if all the tables were occupied she can do that but at that time at least 3 tables were vacant. What I don’t understand is I have paid for in advanced and I purchased the food from them and they won’t allow me to eat there. When we were sit she won’t even bother to give us water. She has given water to the customers sitting beside us. She won’t bother to look at our direction and obviously avoiding us. We only asked for 2 waters even if we are 4 because it seems like we are a burden for her. Finally got the orders 6:40PM. She’s not even smiling or handing the food over to us properly, leaving it just beside one side. She is the rudest server ever, I don’t feel welcome here. I understand she’s upset but that’s not how you treat the customers who have already paid for the order and should have gotten the order (takeout) earlier. No proper ventilation. Prepare to smell like ramen.
It tastes like instant ramen pack??? Are you seriously charging us the price of authentic ramen with instant noodles quality????0 instant noodle quality ?Egg: -10/10 it’s culturally illegal to include a hard boiled egg in ramen?0 instant noodle quality ?Pork: 6/10 decentIf you’re looking for a restaurant to satisfy your sudden ramen cravings, this place is alright. If you’re looking for actual ramen that tastes like ramen, this is not the place, you’re gonna have your heart broken. This is definitely not considered good value for money.
