The cafe offers a clear view of the busy intersection and bus terminal below. The menu, made up of laminated sheets bound together, is simple yet effective in displaying the food options available. Unfortunately, the limited-time flavor of Red Bean Korean Rice Cake bingsoo that I wanted to order was not available, even though it was already May. Instead, I opted for the Fruits Bingsoo. To my relief, the Fruits Bingsoo was much better than my previous experience at Cafe Bene. The bingsoo comes in two sizes (large and small), and the smaller size was perfect for sharing as a pre-dinner sweet snack. Overall, I had a positive experience at Soban and would recommend it to others.
It was basically a Korean sandwich made with toast that had powdered sugar on top. It sounded like an odd combination at first because the sandwich contained salty elements like special sauce egg, ham, cheese, cabbage (such a Korean ingredient to stick in there), and pickle.
I absolutely adore the modern and beautifully designed interior of this restaurant, along with the excellent service and mouth-watering menu options! Here's what I tried: The Japanese-style pan-fried Salmon with rice was the standout dish, with a generous portion of perfectly seared salmon that was crispy and flavorful. The sauce paired perfectly with the rice, highly recommended! The Japanese-style pan-fried beef with rice was cooked to perfection, with a pink center that spoke for itself. The Pink Berry and Blue Coast drinks were a great addition to set the mood, especially the lusciously blue-hued Blue Coast which leaned towards the sweeter side. The Korean-style macarons for dessert were a delicious treat, with smooth cream and cute presentation. The appetizers offered a unique selection, with the spicy whelk salad being a rare and delicious find, and the smoked salmon served on a bed of baby spinach was a healthy choice. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!
If you're looking for creative Japanese fusion dish, this is the spot to try! Located in Yonge Finch, a newly renovated Soban Eatery Bar, offers extensive menu from small bites to mains, and even desserts. Appetizer: Takoyaki our favourite who doesn't love takoyaki?! Fruit Salad comes with avocado, strawberry, honeydew, and lettuce. It's light yet full of flavour Chicken Skewers Shrimp skewers Mains: Beef Teppan Pasta served on a sizzling hot plate. I love the creamy pasta, a great addition to the medium rare steak. And the sauce has all the complex, sweet savoury flavours that go so well with everything. Japanese Style Pan Fried Beef with Rice Mocktails: Pink Berry this drink is so pretty and refreshing! Absolutely a must order Blue Coast Overall, we really love the meals, ambiance, the modern minimalist interior, and the amazing hospitality. This place is great for hanging out with friends, date night or even late night snacks
