This restaurant and its accommodations are delightful. I stayed here for a birthday party and had a wonderful experience, topped off with a fantastic breakfast the next morning. I highly recommend it! Rooms: 5/5, Service: 5/5, Location: 5/5.

Disclaimer: we did not know this was a Four In A Bed hotel before staying. We found out on check in where the envelope crowning them a winner is on the wall. Do not watch their episode of Four In A Bed whilst in your room then walk round your room pretending you're on the show. You'll notice things wrong that REALLY don't matter (the fire alarms really do make weird noises but it really didn't impact on sleep). You'll get stuck in sarcasm mode. This makes things really awkward at breakfast when Chris (who you never think you'll cross paths with irl) serves you in a delightful manner and you're giggling and biting your tongue so you don't ask where the hash browns are on the full English or where the pastries are on the continental. Negatives: The baths are tiny, there was a random office chair in the room where you'd expect an armchair of sorts, and they definitely didn't stock molten brown shampoo as promised on the posters in the restaurant loos. Positives: Comfy bed, clean, plenty of parking, nice amenities when it comes to the pub and restaurant, good uber eats options close after kitchen closes, easy to get in and out if you're a smoker or have loads of luggage. Have done up the restaurant nicely following the show proper glow up! Overall a great stay (we stayed over before picking up and taking my partners son to London to break up our drive from The Peaks), definitely worth the £70 for a double room and breakfast (the sausages are delightful) and in true Four In A Bed style. The food and the service was very good but what let this restaurant down were the ladies toilet. Only one cubicle was open, the other being lo locked, but the other toilet was not working properly. The cistern was a slow fill and when one person used it 2 others could not flush. On Sunday the restaurant was quite full I would say at least 30 people. They need to get the toilet situation sorted out quickly. There was no notices on the door to say there was a problem. I'm sorry but I think the situation was disgusting. If I go again I will ask whether the toilet is working before I book. Service: 5 Location: 4
