Tasteless carrots, potato dumplings are some bizarre mashed ball covered with terrible brown gravy. Schnitzel was terrible. The soup and mashed potatoes were actually good. The decor was nice. My wife liked the Tiffany lamps. There are many better places to eat in Northport. Even McDonald's is across the street.
A true landmark!!! CELEBRATING 50 YEARS, Artie Glad, with his fine fare and true flair have withstood the test of time. Just go!!! It's fabulous. (Best steak in Northport. Great bar, too. Congratulations, Artie!! We love you, The Stevens Family
Haven't been there in 20 years after moving to NC. Was in NY and couldn't resist having dinner there with family. Everyone raved about the food service. It was exceptional! Still the same owner who was gracious to come to our table and acknowledge our presence bought us a round of after dinner drinks. Again, exceptional!
The owner, Artie, the cooks, waitresses and bartender Denise are fabulous. They all seem to have a passion for being a part of Pumpernickels' hospitality history. Their work effort and quality of service as well as the delicious food shows they are committed to giving you a memorable dining experience.
The food doesn’t even feel very German, only a 1/4 of the menu. I had the sauerbraten and it was the worst I’ve ever had. The mashed potatoes were instant potatoes. The gravy was the worst. The sauerkraut and red cabbage was depressing.
