Great knowledgeable staff. Food handled really carefully. Really pleased.

Takeaway gluten free fish and chips, beautifully made. Not greasy at all. Separate fryer and utensils used.

Saw reviews on here and was nearby so thought we’d ask. There was a queue for takeaway but not to sit in. Explained son is coeliac and has a nut allergy. They explained they have a separate fryer. Son was delighted to be able to have fish and chips with us for a change. No signs of any glutening and they seemed to get it. Surprised GF wasn’t listed on menus. Not the best chips if I’m being critical, but just very happy to be able to have GF fish and chips as a family.

Visited Neptune based on the review on find me GF. However, there is no mention of gluten free availability on the restaurant menu. When I asked I was told it is only the fish and chips available GF. I noticed all fish and chip meals came with bread and butter so enquired if they had GF bread. I was advise it is 'just normal bread". We proceeded to order 2 cod and chips. I asked if they had GF vinegar and was told they did. A little while later a different server approached our table announcing GF vinegar as he placed it down. This always instills confidence when it is confirmed. However, what did not give me confidence in our meal was he also placed bread and butter on the table. I asked it is was GF and was told "no the bread isn't GF". I was completely perplexed when I had ordered 2 GF meals.... Side note...the coffee is awful, instant and £2.50!!! Food tasted good but for the price could have had more chips or included peas etc

We were very impressed with the menu options at this restaurant, which now includes vegan alternatives like fish fillets, chick'n strips, pie, and sausage. We tried the vegan fish and chicken dishes and they were absolutely delicious!
