The food was incredible, the service was top-notch, the building was beautiful, the drink selection was excellent, and the views were gorgeous. I highly recommend it!
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant with fantastic food and excellent service. Our waiter was knowledgeable and let us try some local ales. The king prawns were cooked perfectly and we were offered water and given our choice of tables. The temperature in the restaurant was just right for the season. We really enjoyed the sea bream with prawn and mussel sauce, as well as the gravadlax and pork fillet. Although we were too full for dessert, our waiter made me a decaf Irish coffee. He was polite and professional. We can't wait to come back again!
Beautiful hotel with a lovely setting. However, we were a bit disappointed during our visit to the gourmet restaurant which had received a 'Les Routiers Gold Plate Restaurant Award'. We had planned to treat ourselves to a nice Sunday lunch during our stay in Bellingham for the week. Despite the fact that there were other charming restaurants in the village, we decided to dine here. We had tried to book a table for 1 o'clock but were offered either 12:45 or 1:30 due to it being busy. We opted for 1:30, but only a few tables were occupied and the atmosphere was lacking. The starters looked unappealing so we skipped them. The roast beef was decent, but the carrots were overcooked. The desserts seemed to be frozen, so we decided not to try them. The French wine was enjoyable, but served in small glasses. The staff seemed disinterested, with the exception of one local employee who tried his best. When we asked for the check, it was handed to us abruptly. Luckily, there was no pressure to leave a tip. The service was just satisfactory for the price.
Hotel is beautiful, with amazing views. The staff outstanding could do enough, food out of this world. Also has an indoor pool which we didn’t try this time but we will when we revisit. Great access to Scotland, Kielder Newcastle Perfect hotel
We had a lovely evening meal at a nice table in the window. We had the garlic mushroom starter, cod main course and beef studded with haggis followed by banoffee pie. Every dish was delicious. Food arrived very quickly and staff were friendly and attentive. Only wish we had brought our swimming stuff and there a pool which diners can use. Would highly recommend.
