Chaos today, long wait to be served then served the wrong drink, didn’t notice until I was back outside in the garden and wasn’t going to queue for ages again so gave it to my friend and I went without 2 Teenagers riding trial bikes through the pub garden onto the road outside back and forth twice, obviously should not have been driving on the road at all! Vomit on the paved area outside the patio door A bit of a disaster, first time we had been with the new owners in place Staff getting pretty stressed

I can't recommend the Rose and Thistle enough. Mary and the whole team went out of their way to make our visit special. Nothing was too much trouble, everyone was amazingly friendly and the food was excellent. Thank you so much!

Truly lovely staff who went above and beyond to be helpful, kind and generous. We ate dinner, breakfast and a Sunday lunch at the pub all of which were delicious and sizable portions! The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended.

Incredible service from a wonderfully friendly and attentive team. Even at their busiest, the food was quick and delicious. Massive thank you to Mary and the rest of the Rose Thistle for looking after us at every chance during the past weekend during an event.

I read some really good reviews on the food at The Rose Thistle, so after a fantastic day's walk up to Windy Gyle, we dropped in and were not disappointed. The food was tremendous and the ladies serving both behind and front of house were lovely. I would recommend this lovely pub to anyone looking for the real deal
