Only returned from a midwife break in wooler and would highly recommend the anchor. large selection of drinks . eat in order and cheap. quiz at night thundersday. everything rounds a good pub and will call again next time we get up there.

A little pub with surprisingly fantastic eating and beautiful staff. the Sunday dinner was very good value for money, the plate of the veg alone was massive! the bark was in your mouth tender. in any case you can't beat. especially fabulous after a day to foot in the beautiful northumbria landscape.

In this pub we were so often on the go for some years, but yesterday we decided to eat there for the first time. the food was tasty, it was an excellent value for money, the portion size was huge and it came out in time. real 5-star rating!

Fantastic house cooked on Sunday afternoon. the bark was super, much veg and lukecious thick engraving. only £8 for a big dinner. absolutely excellent. the staff was so friendly. can't wait to come back!
