The Snowy Owl - Northumberland

We have eaten here a few times but this one wasn’t what we expected. Ordered 3 Sunday roast. We didn’t have to wait very long before they arrived. We were surprised how quick they came. Unfortunately all 3 had to go back due to being cold. The plate bottom was warm but food was cold. Replacements came very quickly and to be honest we were not sure if they had just been re heated. The only waitress acknowledged the error and apologised.

I'm a, frequent visitor to The Snowy Owl, often for light food, today just for coffee. I always find the staff helpful and friendly. Today was no exception. I was served by Sally, who always has a lovely smile, and an excellent service manner. Well done Snowy Owl and Sally. From Kit Tapscott

I never write reviews about my experiences but on this occasion I felt that I had to. My partner and I went to the Snowy Owl to celebrate our engagement. When we arrived to the restaurant there was confusion on the time of our booking which is fair enough. We were then told to take a seat and that someone will soon be with us to take our order and that they will take your order for your drinks. Ten minutes later after setting down a member of staff came across and took our order. Twenty minutes later our meal arrived, however we were still waiting for our drinks. A minute or two later the drinks arrived. It would have been better if I could have ordered my drinks at the bar. The meal we ordered was the Signature Burger at the cost of £17.95 each. When they placed the meal on the table we were not asked if we would like any condiments, which was disappointing. I had to go to another table to get some salt. The beef burger was absolutely disgusting, it tasted nothing like beef and was sloppy. The bread bun collapsed to the size of a pancake. The portion of chips were very small and on the side of the plate was a tiny ring of red onion. Very disappointed, service poor, food expensive and food very poor. Will never ever go back.
