I recently tried the chicken wings, while my friend ordered the meatloaf special, and both were delicious. Another friend had a salad that looked fantastic—it was simply lettuce and tomato, but the lettuce was a true mix of greens, absolutely no iceberg in sight. It may not be elaborate, but it was fresh and satisfying! I've also had the fish, and it was incredibly flavorful. The drinks are excellent too. I enjoyed a Margarita served in a pint glass, with just the right amount of tequila and minimal ice. L tried the punch, which I had on my last visit; it's a refreshing summer delight, also served in a pint glass. The terrace is beautiful, and the service is exceptional! The manager is friendly, and our waiter, Dreeze (if I spelled that correctly), was even more welcoming. We had a party of ten and were able to have separate checks without any hassle. This has become our go-to place after tennis. We've thought about trying other restaurants and have visited a couple of times, but there really is no better spot to gather with friends on a Sunday afternoon than the terrace overlooking the golf course. Enjoying great food, sipping on quality drinks, and chatting away while being so well taken care of—it's truly unbeatable.
We both ordered the burger, and it turned out to be excellent—large, juicy, and cooked to perfection. When our burgers arrived, both the co-owner and the chef came out to apologize for the wait and check on our food, which was a really nice touch. At the end of our meal, they made it very easy to use our Livingsocial deal, which had technically expired. They honored the purchase amount without any hesitation. We would definitely return to try other dishes. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that there’s still some room for improvement.
The menu was limited, offering about eight appetizers priced between $8 and $12, and around six entrees ranging from $20 to $30. I was hungry but not quite ready to spend that much on dinner, so I opted for the honey pear salad (an appetizer for $9.75). Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very small portion, just a tiny pile of greens with a poached pear on the side and a generous amount of crumbled blue cheese. As a result, later that night, I found myself stopping at a diner for more food! We also shared a bottle of prosecco for $30, which was a better deal than individual drinks that cost around $8 to $10 each. Plus, it's always fun to pop open a bottle! I likely won’t return, as I'm not often in Norwalk, and I don't typically frequent upscale restaurants or singles mixers. However, I must mention that the manager was actively involved in assisting the wait staff, and everyone was very polite and friendly, which definitely enhanced our experience.
Update (9/3/15): I recently hosted a rehearsal dinner here, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. We were seated on the porch with a great view of the putting green, which added to the ambiance. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. The chef was accommodating and made adjustments to the menu based on our specific requests. They even had great options for the little ones in attendance. Everyone involved went above and beyond to ensure the event was a success. It was a truly lovely evening that everyone enjoyed!
I started with a crab cake accompanied by a Tequila Lime sauce. It was generously filled with lumps of crab and perfectly shaped—absolutely outstanding. For the main course, I had broiled trout that was cooked to perfection, served alongside white navy beans, sliced carrots, and broccoli. The chef is a bit generous with garlic, which added a nice depth of flavor. My companion enjoyed a lovely salad, followed by rigatoni with sweet Italian sausage, broccoli rabe, and garlic olive oil, which was equally impressive. To finish, we indulged in a dessert crepe filled with sliced bananas, chocolate ganache, candied walnuts, and vanilla bean ice cream, along with a warm, decadent chocolate brownie served with vanilla ice cream and crème anglaise, topped with pistachio praline. These desserts can only be described as sinful. We used a Living Social coupon and will definitely be returning again.
