The Spread South Norwalk

My husband and I arrived shortly after the restaurant opened for the day. We had a reservation, and were waiting behind one party to be seated. When we got to the front, I was mentioning to the host that the address was confusing, as there was another building with the same address, and we had to be directed to The Spread by a clerk inside of that building. While I was attempting to share this info, the host abruptly shifted his attention to a woman who walked in while I was talking, and he seated her before returning his attention back to us. We found this entire exchange (ignoring my attempts at conversation, and seating a late comer ahead of us) to be completely rude! Upon being seated, we had immediate service, but our server had no personality, didn 't smile, and never told us his name. However, we noticed that he was very engaging with the young women who were seated behind us 30 min. after we arrived. We had better interactions with the guy who brought us our drinks, as he was more engaging. I ordered the cajun chicken sandwich, and while I admittedly asked for no jalapenos, the spice that they used on the chicken had ZERO flavor, and the chicken was bland. Even with the avocado and some kind of spicy mayo, the dish was not worth any price, and definitely not the price we paid. My husband had the French toast and he said it was okay. I doubt I would return to this place.

What a fun vibe!!! It makes SONO feel fresh and young very cool and SO convenient because the parking garage is right there!!! The staff is so friendly and nice everyone seems to love it there. A happy group. Food was amazing. We went for brunch I will definitely be back. It must be awesome in the summer, when you can walk along the water and check out some shops on Washington Street.

Disappointed, waitstaff was confused- ice coffee came out twice incorrectly made, finally just cancelled order -well done burger came out raw, no one ever came back to refill waters, took asking 4 times to finally bring straws. Not sure what is going on- maybe short staffed, but wasn't happy with the service overall.

Poor service. No silverware, didn't remember food request like no bacon or how the burger should be cooked, and auctioned off the food instead of knowing who ordered what. Mid food
