Zak's - Norwich

Took my team to Zaks for some dinner and we all loved it. The burgers were better than anything from a chain restaurant and were cooked as requested. The portions are generous and there's a great choice of beers. AND the music was good! Service was quick and considerate and I will happily return next time I'm in Norwich. Thanks for a great evening.

I visited Zaks yesterday and was a bit disappointed that the burgers were frozen. This place specializes in burgers, so I was expecting them to be made on the premises. When I asked for medium-rare I was told that they could not do that... The burger was ok but a bit dry and to be honest, I expected better.

I can understand why people have given this place some harsh reviews, Me and my girlfriend ended up going to Zak 's as we had been when we were in Norwich the year before, similar time of year (Christmas). We hadn 't booked this time and were put on a stool like table in front of the door. When anyone opened the door there was a breeze that hit our table. We order an big 'un and alot of sides. I also liked the fact they do Blue Moon beer. It was what you would expect with the food. TGI style greasy food, but that 's what we went for. What was really refreshing was seeing how happy people were working there. Our server was spot on. Asking us for refills kept us updated about our food. And there was some banter from the waiters. It just felt like a good vibe to the place. It 's not going to win over any dates but it 's great for a stop off or for kids. We tipped, felt compelled to write a review card at the restaurant, and left very satisfied.

Zaks has been a name you can trust in Norwich for many years ever since the caravan that was located on the old Castle Meadow! The food is American themed burgers, ribs, fries and the desserts are huge knickerbocker glory, ice cream sundaes and chocolate brownies to die for! Very family friendly and at a good price. They are just starting to offer loyalty incentives too, and if you have a spree book you can pick up buy one get one free which really does make a difference to the bill! Their milkshakes are awesome but expensive, but in general they offer good value for money. The restaurant is often packed and sometimes staff are pushed, but all do their best. My only criticism would be the parking since they have built new houses nearby, parking is even more limited, and you need to be careful!

This is a great resturant that has fantastic meals here. The resturant itself is well presented and laid out which is very welcoming. They serve all typical american food such as burgers (which in my opinion are the best tasting) fries, and lovely milkshakes too (which my children love). The only thing is the price at the end especially if you're like me and have a family of six. They do however do a good selection of children menus available. There is plenty of parking near to this resturant so it makes it easily accessable by either car or foot. This place is perfect to go for a meal if you've been busy shopping at the city.
