Dawn (I think is the owner] has always got a smile for everyone. They put on good DJS from house music to your classic disco music and other events. We hate town as we are getting on a bit and there is a good mix of ages in there.Drinks are reasonable for the climate and so is the food. It's full of decent people just looking to relax and have a dance or a bite to eat. I haven't come across a pub like it to be honest. It doesn't stand still. We don't even live in Sherwood but we make an effort to get there. If you want a pub with a difference. Start going there.
Absolutely fabulous Twice I’ve eaten here in the past 3 weeks. Always four family members at each sitting and we all agree that’s the food and service(alongside the craft beer) is the best in Nottingham Be back next weekend
I went in about 3.30, apparently open at 3. I said a cheery hello to the landlord. He ignored me ha! I bought a drink and asked about the food menu that is supposed to be available from 3. Apparently there was a ‘problem in the kitchen’ again. For a pub that promotes itself as a community hub, it really needs to sort itself out!
We visited the Robin hood last night. I asked the bar man if they had any 0 alcohol gins, to which he said yes straight away, without needing to check so I assumed he knew his stuff. I drank what I had been told was a 0 G&T and my friend went to order me another. She was served by a different bar man who told her that they had no 0 gin in stock, the first bar man pointed him in the direction of the bottle he had served me from earlier, which was full alcoholic gin. The original man who served me, seemed completely unbothered, despite me telling him I was pregnant, and continued to pull the pint for the customer who he was serving, so I asked to speak to a manager. The manager was apologetic and said the bar man was 'young ' and would be spoken to. Age is no excuse. The round he served included a beer for my husband, so if he is old enough to serve alcohol he needs to understand what 0 means and how important it is to check packaging if a dietary request is made. 1 glass of gin may not be a concern to some people during pregnancy, but it is my choice not to drink alcohol at the moment and if we had been served by the same bar man again, I could 've ended up have 3 or 4. Pregnancy, allergies, medication, recovering alcoholism... There are many reasons that people may not be able to drink alcohol and the bar staff serving should take the time (10 seconds max! to check a bottle if 0 if requested. Absolutely disgusted and upset by the visit. I will not be going back.
I haven 't been here since the revamp and came because I heard they were hosting the Carolina 's Chilli guys. The inside is really lovely with a real fire, kid friendly areas and a great beer garden. The Tacos served from the hatch in the beer garden were honestly the best I have ever had, incredible definitely check out 'Carolina 's Chilli ' too. The bar staff were lovely and the guys serving the food who were brilliant so friendly. I highly recommend. Loved it.
