This small, welcoming restaurant would be beating off hordes of customers in New York or LA with its eclectic and comfortable decor. As it is, this is a real gem in the sometimes hard city of Novosibirsk. Duck was delicious. Fruit teas done as only Russia does fruit teas. A good wine selection (which is not always the case) and excellent, fast, and very warm service. Don’t forget to try the homemade limoncello and some traditionally made Mille-Feuille put together at the table. Delicious.
The restaurant has a nice decor and could be a good place to eat but the service is not accommodating, particularly, the chef. The waiters seemed to be afraid of the chef when I asked if it's possible to remove an ingredient and replace it with another. They said it's only possible to remove but not to add since the chef won't do it, even though I was willing to pay for it. It's also pricey for what it is.
Picture a refined and cozy interior, velvet and veneers, chandeliers, warm subdued light; sounds of clinking glasses, crackling juicy steak being high-flamed cooked in front of your very eyes, liquid nitrogen cooled ice creams; Natalia, your host, and her team heartily welcoming each and every guest; all of these happening while the snow is gently falling outside. Imagine all these and you'll get a sense of what Biblioteka's magic is all about. A place like no other to experience Siberian hospitality.
