I made a 6:30 PM reservation for two friends visiting from out of town. Unfortunately, our outdoor table was situated right by the pool gate, which made for a very distracting dining experience as people were constantly walking by just inches away from us while we were eating. On a positive note, the calamari appetizer was delicious. However, the lobster roll was only average. To make matters worse, the server kept my credit card and I never got it back. I was disappointed to find out that the restaurant wanted to charge me to mail it back.
Some of the staff clearly need more training. The steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus were all cold. I returned my meal as well as my wife's, but they simply prepared the same dishes again, and my wife's steak was still tough. While the setting is beautiful, you can't eat the atmosphere. This was my first and last visit.
Since Google will not leave me alone with this place, I'll offer a review. I work across the street on the yachts located in Sag Harbor Cove East and West marinas. I look at Baron's Cove all day. I watch people come and go. Sometimes I see them talking to each other in the street. They all seem like nice people. Meanwhile I'm sweating bullets standing in the sun repairing broken things of all types. I dream about being one of those people but when I'm done I have an hour drive home and there is no way I'm driving back out to go there. So take this for what you want. I just want Google to stop bothering me about this place and let me work.
Great food. Fast friendly service. Had a great time here.
