Yes, we expected a good kitchen when in a region famous for eating, whether we are a tourist or local, but in l’alambic, a restaurant in the heart of the French bourgogne, it did not happen. a dish was huh, which was served cold and that. Although it is difficult to screw up kartoffels, the kartoffels were not edible. another court was boeuf bourgogne, which was in the best case mediocre; the flesh, the mushrooms and the schalottes were little and the sauce was characterless. when we left and were asked if we enjoyed eating, the constructive criticism with indiffenence was not appreciated. of course we will not return.
Eating is average. but the service is very bad. we waited our starter for hour and min. I recommend finding something else.
We have stayed in hostellerie st. vincent on a recommendation for a few years after our previous regular, sadly gone from boiling. we have only good experiences of this excellent facility. the hotel is simple but reasonable while L’Alambic restaurant. was excellent. beautiful informal, relaxed atmosphere. good and beautiful traditional menu. quality of food by way of example. in the course of a week's holiday that moved between hotels and restaurants, this was at the rande the best we ate and against some significantly more expensive businesses. bravo; stars well deserved.
In a typical rural countryside full of vineyards, you can easily access to Nuits-Saint Geoges, a tiny old village in Burgundy, France, from the Highway The Alambic is a fine restaurant with great menu, typically French with snails, Foie gras, beef jaws, or sander...fish, and gorgeous deserts. The restaurant room is an old sober but tiny underground cellar. The wine menu is full of choice from all bburses. A daily menu is also proposed. Despite servers seems to be apprentices, I recommend to test this unique place, and if you want several caves around offer you a great choice of burgundy wines (just in front for those who do not want to walk), appreciate them but with moderation!
