However, our last two visits have been disappointing. The food, while good, was not what we usually expect from this place. On our most recent visit, I had the walleye which was fresh, but virtually tasteless. The fish was accompanied by a side of beans that took up the majority of the plate. In my opinion, beans would have been better as a small accompaniment, or replaced by a nicely grilled vegetable and/or crispy potato as a counterpoint to the soft, flaky fish. My husband's chicken tosca was tasty but the angel hair pasta was overcooked and mushy. Both recent visits had us sitting at a table draped in a tablecloth that had seen better days. Before sitting, I had to wipe off a large pile of crumbs and something greasy on the booth. Ideally, staff bussing tables should be trained to give seats a good wipe down before the next diners take their seats. We still like this place and will likely return, but probably not as often as we have in the past. For many diners (myself included), a high quality, upscale dining experience is about the small things, such as clean, starched tablecloths and a dining area free of the remnants of those who dined there previously.
I had a soup and sandwich special that I split with somebody and it was amazing. The soup was good and the sandwich was equally good. I highly recommend this great atmosphere. Nice place to go if you are looking to impress service.
We always go here on thursdays after choir practice. The service is fantastic. They always take great care of us. Bill's is a great place. Often busy. The food is great, the service phenominal the drinks are strong. You won't regret it.
Great beer Grand Rapids lager) and fries with garlic aioli dip. Amazing service!
Tried to make a dinner reservation, but the host said they only take lunch and brunch reservations. Seems odd… so we made a reservation across the street at Joe Muer.
