Uogashi Maruten Uogashiten - Numazu

There are two restaurants with the same name on the same street. There's the family friendly one, and the one that's for bar hopping. This review concerns the family friendly one. In terms of food, I can say that while everything, including the seasonal sakura shrimp and shirasu, was alright. I had the 2,000 yen sampler sashimi paste. However, while things tasted fine, I thought that the food would taste fresher, given the literal proximity to Numazu Port. The thing I am most critical of is the cleanliness, or lack thereof, because the bar counters where customers are seated have layers of dust on the shelf where the sushi refrigerated products are. The dust, fish scales from preparation, and splashes of soy sauce from previous customers are still visible. In fact, all around the restaurant were used rags it of sight from the customers, but once they are noticed, one might also notice the flies that congregate around the sauce-dried rags. I would try the bar hopping one next time, and compare cleanliness.

The sashimi really enjoyed. great price and authentic feeling.

Loved the whole court with very afforadble price. the best we have chosen is the grilled fish dish we have to wait for 20 minutes to be cooked. we all agreed that it is worth the waiting period. so fresh and delicious!

The best place for local seafood with very cheap price. I and my 5 other friends were here for the second time, ordered tempura, fish steak, sashimi and grilled fish. only 2000 years paid for a person. the staff are very nice and tourist friendly with local super service. come back in any case!

The sashimi and other seafood are amazingly delicate and fresh. Do not miss them if they are looking for a qualitatiw high quality and cheap restaurant here.
