First, my meal was enjoyable. I was a little surprised that a place that advertises a country breakfast served country ham with the bone removed and every piece of fat removed from it. So the ham was a bit dry and tasteless. Not what I expected for a country ham breakfast. My eggs and grits, very good. Biscuits and gravy, very good. The service was great, and I tipped well. I will try the tenderloin upon my return Or maybe a different meal and try the chicken
Upon my arrival, I was immediately in awe of that perfectly golden rooster on the big white sign reading, “Chicken Chef.” This place embodies what it means to be a true American. Work hard eat chicken. I knew that I had reached Heaven. Could the gates be located in McMinnville? I walk in. The air quality was unlike any other air I have ever breathed. It was so fresh and crisp like a honey crisp apple on a fall morning. I sit down at that beautiful leather green booth right in the corner with the sun shining down on me. I order the sweet tea…. my tastebuds immediately all die at the taste because it is so good. I ordered the Cheeseburger with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and Corn Nuggets. This is when I knew that I had truly had an out of body experience. With every bite, Heaven felt closer and closer. I don’t know what that Rooster is doing to cook like that, but I know it’s right. I asked the owners if they would be willing for me to live there and they did say no…. so I did cry for a second, but quickly realized that it was for the best. This world is not my home. Put your faith in Jesus eat chicken chef. AMEN.
They have the best tender gizzards almost melt in your mouth.
Was hoping local owned southern chicken spot would be better but the fried chicken was insanely dry, barely had meat on the bone and over priced….which is worth it IF the chicken is good. Mashed potatoes were also very plain and dry, which is I see why they want to add gravy to it, all around bad experience but was really hoping it was good! Tired of not having good chicken somewhere.
