Aunt Mary's Cafe - Oakland

We dined here today, and both the food and service were excellent. We were seated quickly, and our food arrived shortly after we placed our order. The fruit was fresh, and the speck was perfectly crispy. The biscuits and gravy were delicious and flavorful—there was no need for extra salt or pepper, and we appreciated how well the cookies were grilled. The pancakes were soft and delightful, and the beets added an extra touch of flavor!

The dining experience was fantastic! I appreciated the quick seating and attentive service. The waffles were incredibly fluffy, the potatoes were delicious with a nice spicy kick, and the pancakes were very flavorful!

**Location:** The cafe is situated on a busy road, which can make parking a bit challenging, especially if you're driving. **Seating:** There’s plenty of seating available both inside, outside by the road, and on a terrace in the back. We opted for the back terrace, which had a rustic street vibe that reminded me of restaurants back home, with its brick walls and relaxed atmosphere. **Food:** I came for the biscuit gravy but ended up falling in love with the tomato watermelon gazpacho. Both dishes were outstanding! The biscuit gravy had a wonderfully cheesy flavor, and we ordered the full biscuit gravy dish, which came with four biscuits. I felt that the last two biscuits could have used a bit more substance. As for the tomato watermelon gazpacho, it was incredible! The combination of fresh watermelon and feta cheese was to die for, and I loved the touch of greens on top – it definitely added to the flavor. **Overall:** I will definitely be returning. I feel that this place is one of the best brunch spots in Oakland!

Amazing. friendly service. always busy and no reservations, but very much worth waiting. I recommend the pancake pain de perdue and lemon ricotta! wash it with a guava or apfelmusosa.
