When viewing the restaurant from above, it looks half empty, with a fantastic view of the lake and background mountain. This view is a 5. When you go to get a table you are presented with a pager and are told there is at least an hour wait. This, due to every other business in our quickly devolving national ranking to a second tier nation: unwilling to work Americans. But, I digress. With pager in hand, we traipse to the casino (where winning isn't easy, or is almost non-existent). With our losses, we went to the bar. Nice bartender, but very busy. Sat for awhile and after our hour wait, went back to the restaurant to wait some more. After a wait of over an hour, we were sat at a table with a great view, but basic to little cleanliness. It took awhile to get our drinks ordered and we ordered at the same time. The order was Center Cut Filet (Med), Green Beans, and Mashed Potatoes. The second order was the Pork Chop with Grits and Green Beans. The: *Steak- prepared well, seasoned well. A little dry and was delivered a little cool. 4 out of 5 *Green Beans-delicious, crisp, nice butter/garlic combination. 5 of 5 *Mashed Potatoes- more like boiled potatoes, and slopped on a plate Bland. Flavorless. Lumpy stuff. This didn't get devoured. 2 of 5. *Pork Chop-heavy smoke aroma and taste. Thick, juicy, and prepared med well. I'd order it again. Nice seasonings too. I'm not a grits fan, but these were good. 4 of 5. Overall, the wait, the cleanliness, and the staff I give a 3. The food a 3.8 to 4 on my scale. It is overpriced for what you get. While the view may be memorable, the food won't be.
It was ran by two guys, who were probably college students at the local university. Very nice place to grab a quick lunch and sit down and have a view of the lake. Food was hot, delicious and ready within five minutes.
Champions Lakeside Grill is now the Cabin Lodge Grill. Awesome enough to go back for a second lunch! The crab hush puppies were delicious, the fries fresh cut and salty. Fresh-made lemonade right onsite was the perfect beverage before and after time on the water.
Incredible. Get the Nashville chicken sandwich! The manager, Ingrid, remembers my name and order every time. Wonderful woman.
After hearing rave reviews of the Nashville chicken sandwich we stopped there on our way out of town. After a 40 minute wait for 4 sandwiches and a fry, we had four of the worst sandwiches we've had in a long time. We had to use a knife to cut off the burnt outer layer of batter. Part of me wants to return because the potential the sandwich has is so high and we had been told that it is excellent, but I'm wary.
