Ichiriki - Oakland

The atmosphere here is casual rather than upscale, but if you’re in need of a quick sushi fix, this place is excellent. I'm puzzled by some reviewers who have criticized the presence of hamburgers on the menu; many restaurants include straightforward American dishes for kids with selective palates. The staff was incredibly friendly. I’m in town for business and have already had lunch here twice. While I can't speak for the entire menu, the Tekka (tuna), Alaska (salmon avocado), and Spider (soft shell crab) rolls were all fantastic, and they definitely don’t skimp on the fish or crab. They also serve some of the best miso soup I've ever tasted. The prices are very reasonable as well; you can easily enjoy a couple of rolls for around $15, including tip, unless you decide on their specialty rolls. I’m eager to return for more lunches during my stay.
