The balsamic brussel sprouts were fab-u-lous along with the yams and fried chicken . My husband had the greens, oxtails and macn cheese, which he said were delicious! Oh, I can't forget the hush puppies!...Honestly the best I've ever had! All this plus aglass of chardonnay for under $100!...Whaaaat?! The atmosphere was nice, except for the music, which was obviously gearedtowards a younger crowd. But the food was so good, I totally tuned out the music. Magnolias is a MUST try. I promise you won'tbe disappointed!????????
This place is great. I can't wait to go back. The food is awesome.
I came here unprepared. I remembered that it is promoted by photography great feedback. I was curious to try, especially since it had never heard of them in the bay. popped up was politely greeted by the hostess. we were told 45-65 minutes for a table. So we waited just to sit in 20!? we ordered both the fish n' smirk, shady, let me say that the food was bomb? but we both enjoyed our fish n' grießen meal mimosas! cons: music is too loud! I can't hear you talking or the person who talks to you! Please note that they put the music on a note. we were also asked to change our table after we are already sitting and drinking? waiting for our food enjoying the mood. to bring someone! like. (unprofessional) the fried chicken on the side had no spice just to drowned honey on the top. a total waste of money! our waiter was cool that she smiled a lot? in contrast to her colleague. he punched around without smiled at them as if their problem! dropping glass plates that are almost on customers who sit. he was not friendly at all! should they think about bringing him to a busser or a schirr. he has no customer service skills! besides that it was cool. Hopefully, next time we are not asked to move our seats after we are not sitting by a very irritable looking male waiter who does not seem to enjoy the work they were hired to do!
This is a wonderful restaurant. Food is Rich, tasty, and great portions. I will be back here for sure. You may need a nap when you're done eating FYI.
Okay, here's the thing the food is FANTASTIC. The chef certainly knows what she is doing. We ordered: Hush Puppies: delicious, fried to perfection with a honey drizzle that really sets it off Crab Croquettes: might be one of the better croquettes I've had in a long time. Lovely texture, seasoned extremely well, full of sweet crab goodness. It comes with a side of potatoes and a salad as well, both of which are good. I asked for my eggs to be poached but I was told that couldn't be done. I thought that was odd but didn't want to argue so I took over easy eggs instead. Luckily the croquettes were delicious regardless. Oxtail and Potato Hash w/ scrambled eggs: my husband ordered this and pretty much inhaled it so I'll take that as a positive review Oxtail Grits: my friend ordered this and said the oxtail was fall off the bone tender. She loved it. On the flip side, the service is very meh. The waiter wasn't particularly kind (mostly aloof, unfriendly, and generally unapproachable) and it took a while to even get the basics like water. The music is also way too loud. It's challenging to have any kind of conversation if you're sitting inside. So if you're looking for a good for the soul meal then check it out, but maybe get takeout or delivery.
