Nyum Bai - Oakland

I finally have the chance to try nyum bai. this place deserves all the attention! it was the first time that I tried Cambodian cuisine, but I was blown away from the aromen and the selection of the meals. some meal times seemed similar to the Vietnamese cuisine, but the seasoned and ingredient make nyum bai. the staff was also very friendly and quick to order and serve their meal. this place is definitely worth a visit!

A hidden gem in Fruitvale! I had never tried Cambodian food before visiting this restaurant, and now I'm a big fan! They also offer their famous fish dishes on the weekends, but be sure to go early as they tend to sell out quickly!

Delicious! My second visit was even better than the first, which was only about five minutes long. The food is excellent, and I really appreciate their creative use of funky shrimp and fish paste in the dressings. The service is also very good. I love this place and can't wait for my next visit!

This restaurant offers a fresh take on modern Cambodian cuisine using local Bay Area ingredients. The chicken wings were fantastic—crispy, juicy, and perfectly balanced with sweet and spicy flavors. The pork belly was tender and glazed in a rich soy sauce. The soup broth was also delightful. Everything is served in a laid-back atmosphere that has received great acclaim. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area, and it's very conveniently located near BART. I can’t wait for my next visit!

If you are planning to go on a weekend, expect lots of wait time. They don't have reservations but you can join the wait list on Yelp. But the waits worth it. You get the best tasting food (with more hints of garlic which I like) and beautifully plated dishes. Order bunch of different ones and share to get a taste of everything (they serve portions in family style, easy to share plates)
