Surprisingly, I have not yet tried their sausage, but I have visited this place numerous times after work for beer and fries. Their fries are deliciously crispy and reasonably priced at $3.75 for a small order and $5 for a large. I like to add chili to mine for an extra dollar. However, I have always attempted to add beer cheese for an additional dollar, but unfortunately, they never seem to have it available. They offer a nice selection of rotating craft beers on tap, priced at 6-8 dollars per pint. The restaurant used to have daily happy hour specials with one dollar off any beer, but now it seems they only offer a single happy hour beer priced at 4 dollars. It appears that the pricing and structure of their happy hour specials change frequently, so it would be helpful if they advertised them more consistently. The seating options include long benches indoors and outdoors, making it enjoyable to sit outside, people watch, and enjoy a cold beer.
This one is a bit difficult to review because there are a lot of factors coming into play for this review. Overall I 'd give this place 3.5 stars, but I 'm deciding to round down to 3, and here 's why: customer service: it was like the military in there. Very strict and not really friendly in my perspective. The person in front of me was struggling to order and was just asking simple questions such as if one of the sausages was spicy or not, to which the cashier lady said, I don 't know, whatever it says there. And then she repeated the question, Do you want just the sausage or as a combo? 3 times with a slight attitude of annoyance. She didn 't have much patience for customers; makes me not want to go back if I feel bullied just from ordering. Then it got to my turn and thankfully I was prepared but she just wanted answers quick. It was not a welcoming ordering experience. Behind me, it was a cop that ordered next. the cashier then made a bad joke before he ordered, putting her hands up and saying, Whatever it is I didn 't do it officer! to which he did not laugh. pricing: as the youngins say, expensive 'AF '. 1000% not worth the price. Everything is over priced. Combos are supposed to be a value for you, but the combos just made your meal even more expensive. The cheapest thing I got was $9.50, for essentially a hot dog with 2 toppings (I had relish and onions). It was maybe worth $4.50 at most. MAYBE. Totally got jipped. I feel like paying $9.50 for what I got, it should have been A5 Wagyu hot dogs. I also ordered pretzel sticks for $7. Honestly, not as bad of a deal, but for the 3 sticks that you get along with the 2 actually generous sized dips, it should be $4.50-5 for fair pricing. timing: I placed my order at 1:11pm and it was ready by 1:22pm. I understand that they had to maybe bake my pretzel sticks so that they 're fresh and cook up the sausage nicely, but 10 minutes still seemed like a long time for just a single hot dog. I 'm used to Costco having your hot dog ready to go in seconds, or even Top Dog heating up your dog and taking 5-6 minutes, but not 10. It 's not just the pretzel sticks that caused the delay either, because the person in front of me that ordered a combo also got his food 1 minute before I did. taste: I ordered the cheddar brat (smoked pork and white cheddar) and what I did not expect was to burn my tongue and mouth every single bite. There should be a disclaimer of some sort. The outside of the dog was already warm/cooled down, but biting it releases oozing cheese that I would normally be praising, but in this case every time I bit into it, hot lava cheese came out and burned my tongue and mouth--it was really annoying. No way you could just blow on it because the outside was already cooled down. I didn 't expect to bite into it and burn myself doing so..... I do like the variety of add-ons you can add in addition to the 2 included toppings. You can add your own ketchup, dijon, spicy brown, garlic mayo, curry ketchup, or honey wasabi dijon (which is what I got). Not a bad variety to choose from. Then for the pretzel sticks, the flavor was nice when they 're warm, along with the house beer cheese and honey mustard dipping sauces. The beer cheese was good but not great. I was confused because of the coloring. It looks like it would be sweet like white frosting on a cinnamon roll but instead it 's beer cheese. The dijon mustard was ehh...I would have rather added in one of the other sauces from the pumps. I would totally go back to try out other flavors of sausages. But not at these ridiculous prices. A one and done for me.
Came here for dinner with my co workers. I had heard so much about the sausages here so I was extremely excited to taste the various flavors. The place had a cool ambience. Good place to come with your buddies, grab a drink and hang out. Very spacious and lively. They have large picnic tables that provide a communal experience. Air conditioned and very comfortable to hang out in. Parking sucks. It 's street parking, so when it 's busy you may have hard time finding parking. If you do, be prepared to pay and put in enough for however long you need to take. I ordered the 2 sausages plate. I can 't remember specifically the types of the sausages, but I do remember ordering the 2 most popular ones. The sausages I ordered were OK. I 'm not sure if it was the nature and texture of my sausage but it was dry. It wasn 't big enough to justify the price but it was still worth the try. I would come back to try the other flavored sausages. Really cool vibe and nice place to hang out. Wish parking didn 't suck too much tho.
Mmmm... these sausages smell hella good. Rosamunde was calling me over but all I wanted was some beer and fries. My friends and I had just finished lunch and dessert, so what was left on the menu on a Saturday afternoon? Beer and table games, and this place absolutely delivered. We ordered pitchers of beer and some loaded fries to share on our Saturday afternoon adventures. They have a couple of local beers on draft for around $21 so you save a few bucks by going big. They were super nice in also offering us a sampling of their fries before we even got our actual plate of loaded spuds. All of this lasted us for the two hours we were hanging out, chillin, and playing cards on their outdoor street seating. Throughout our time there, I was super tempted to order a sausage because they looked so damn good. However, I knew my belly would resist so I am looking forward to coming back at some point to actually feast my mouth on this hefty piece of meat. If you are around Downtown Oakland and need a low key place to hang and drink, consider checking this place out.
I visited Rosamunde Sausage Grill to have a quick meal before heading to a Warriors watch party nearby. The restaurant was not crowded when I got there. I saw that they had a wide selection of sausages on the menu. I opted for a cheddar brat with grilled onions and chili. While it didn't blow me away, it was a satisfying meal.
